Shirat ha-Yam: The Song at the Sea

Take a closer look.

Imagine standing on the shore of the sea, finding this inscription in the sand at your feet. Feel for yourself the exultation and joy of that moment as Moses and the Hebrews first tasted their freedom on the shores of that ancient sea.

The entire text of the Shirat ha-Yam, in layout and lettering very similar to its appearance in the sacred Torah scrolls, is delicately raised and framed by hand-tinted seashell castings.

Hebrew text only. Exodus 15:1-18. Matted, unframed. Signed, dated and numbered.

Handmade paper, 95% cotton, 5% Bradford pear; acrylic and watercolour media. Approximately 16"x12".
